Poetry For Everyday People

One World, One People

Apparently I am perfect
yet at times not quiet
the one,

I strive to be perfectly
real, perfectly respectful,
perfectly honest with myself
and others, I also understand
that perfect is something nature
creates not humanity,

my pride has never been for sale,
I know who I am and that's
the first giant step.

I am polite but do you honestly
think that means I don't like
to talk dirty?  life without
vulgarity is like a toss
without a shot of sizzle,

I am kind but do you honestly
think you can walk all over me?

our experiences led us here
and I believe the kinder you
are, the more ugliness you've
seen, the calmer you are, the
more violence you've seen,

perfect is a home baked
birthday cake, a wild flower
growing in the middle of Lavender
fields,

I'm trying to make an honest
stand, to say F injustice,

to say let's put all racists on
a boat to the Bermuda Triangle,
we'll tell them they won an all
pure cruise, with a welcome back
Hitler seance party and all you can
eat each other buffet,

I'm standing for human rights,
I'm standing for our anxiety's,
I'm standing for our shyness,
I'm standing for our vulnerabilities,

I obviously subscribe to the
pen is mightier than the sword
theory,

and I will keep firing sunshine
up your a ss until you speak

love,
peace
and
respect.
