THAT PEACE SIGN

That big red peace sign
My family emphatically stated
Has nothing to do with Christmas
They thought my idea was outdated

That peace sign
From the hippies of three decades ago
And Peace of Earth
Goodwill to men perhaps will show

Now I hang it on
Our porch railing
Because peace in many countries
Is failing

And it's failing here too
In the good ole USA
That's why I make a lighted peace sign
To shine on passed New Year's Day

Christmas has a lot to do with peace
With God and love and giving
Because with these ideals in mind
All your Christmas becomes part of daily living

That peace sign lighted to shine
Out into the night
To remind us Christmas is peace and God and love,
And his son's holy light.
