Heart Of The Matter
I Saw Two
The rains keep coming,
Force nine winds,
Blow incessantly,
Savagely,
At my door,
They keep me home,
My place of sanctuary,
From life's storms,
And I find refuge,
In the warm,
Today,
I ventured out,
And it rained,
And I walked through dark woods,
In the rain…
Then all at once,
The rain stopped,
Clouds empty now,
The sky a crystal blue,
And the sun shone ….
Through the dark avenue of trees,
A kaleidoscope of coloured hues,
Lit the peaceful scene,
In riotous reverence,
I walked towards the light,
Looked back to where I'd been,
Left it behind,
I gazed upon the colour,
The green, the red, the blue,
I didn't see a rainbow, though,
I was lucky,
I saw two.
