Even He Is ColdThe children build a snowman Cover him with a scarf and hat, Decide to cover his hands with mittens And give him a baseball bat. The children were delighted At the sight they saw, They had to go in for supper And eat with maw and paw. The snowman started to shiver 'Neath the shining moonlight, Walked over to the door of the house Wanted to be warm on this night. He peeked in the windows Saw the food was being served, A cup of hot chocolate Is what this snowman deserved. He waited for the children To come outside to play, A chance to run into the house But, he doesn't know, he'll melt away. The children looked for him Couldn't find him anywhere, Went back into the house Saw the scarf and hat, under the kitchen chair. The children began to cry It was a sad sight to behold, But, on days like this Even the snowman gets cold. Copyright Cynthia Jones Dec.5/2006 Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
