When I was a child
a Christmas tree was a Christmas tree
and Christmas was Christmas
We said Merry Christmas
it was not Happy Holidays
it was not Merry Xmas
it was merry Christmas.
And it was the day Jesus Christ
our Lord our Savior our king was born
.My dad and mom
told us that at midnight on Christmas eve
the animals in the barn
would kneel down to Jesus Christ our king.
Now that I am not so young anymore
how things have changed how did this happen
why take Christ out of Christmas.
to say Merry Christmas Is the American Way
we say have a Happy New Year
on new Years Day.
we say Happy Valentine day
on valentine day.
we say have a Happy Easter
at Easter time.
we say have a Happy fourth of July
at the forth of July
We say have a Happy Thanksgiving
why is it wrong to say merry Christmas
at Christmas time
to take Christ out of Christmas
is so wrong to me. Christ was born
on Christmas it should be
Happy Birthday Dear Jesus
And Merry Christmas To You
