My Sweet Angel

My Sweet Angel
Today I heard the news
my sweet angel is going
I pray for peace
oh why is it....
a touch of relief
letting go so bittersweet
I cry when I think
of all the times I missed out
I should have been closer
should have been better
but it's all over
my sweet angel is leaving....
If I had one wish
it would be to keep him here
tell him how much he means to me
but he already knows....
you will get to see your daughter now
I know a part of you is ready to go
so my sweet angel is waving goodbye....
black and white photographs
coin collections
shiny shotguns in a case
a piece of you left behind
nobody can't ever tell me
we are gone without a trace
so release....I hope when you go
it's gently in your sleep
you told me today
you hear angels singing
oh my sweet angel is slipping
it's okay I will catch up with you one day
I am blowing kisses
as you wave goodbye
I feel you leaving.....
