All alone in a faraway land
The piano man tinkled the keys
I couldn't make up my mind
Whether I minded or not
If it was raining outside
A singer started to croon
She belted out song after song
I tried to listen and applause
But I never heard the horn stop
Alone in a distant land
Drinking heavy spending cash
I was treated as a king
They had me on a tab
I could have been walking on the moon
Neon lights like a clouded glaze
In the deep smoky haze
A husky voice
Said “I will call you a cab
“Where do you need to go?
The answer I already knew
Would be crowded and too far
And in my drunken stooper
I recalled the tinkle of the keys
The braying of a soft horn
The tenderness of a husky voice
Reverie was played
When I awoke
My uniform was messed
I Changed and quickly dressed
Just then headache and all
I heard them call ATEN HUT!!!!
An officer with a husky voice
2 bars on her collar, she gave me a wink,
All alone in a faraway land
