Heart Of The Matter

A Hush Descends

A hush descends,
In the great hall
Anticipating voyeurs,
Eagerly await their moment,
Breath held,
Excitement builds,
The maestro takes the stage,
Preparing to perform,
Tumultuous applause,
Erupting,
Then silence,
All eyes fall on the baton,
Tap, tapping,
One, two, three,

The maestro takes his stance,
His instrument,
Immaculate from conception,
Crafted
To perfection,
Inanimate,
Eagerly awaiting,
The master's rapid touch,

He pauses, eyes flickering,
The maestro,
Plays the crowd,
Enraptured,
This is their moment,
For they have travelled far,
To witness the maestro,
The virtuoso,
And the violin.
