We all have Angels on our shoulders,
This I believe is most true;
But I have one right next door!
So this special poem is especially for you!
We live next door to each other Mo,
And from day one we got on great;
So this I tell right from my heart;
Not to my neighbour, but to my mate!
For almost a year you've done so much,
To help me in many a plight!
You have made my meals many a time;
In the daytime and at night!
You pop in for a cup of tea,
And to make sure I am okay,
And you always know when I'm unwell,
So worry if you don't see me of a day!
You phone me up when you're worried,
And always show much concern;
A lesson in compassion would benefit many!
For it is compassion from you they would learn.
But now then from my heart, Mo;
Because I want to tell you true;
Not only do I have an Angel on my shoulder;
But I have a special Angel next door; in you!
I wanted to give you a special Christmas gift;
So here it is, in black and white;
A very special thank-you poem for you!
