Poetry For Everyday People
Search Beneath Time
I see a bronze sculpture
in my head, a man and
a woman sitting next to
each other holding hands
on a bronze bench his hat's
next to him, it's always
raining when I see them,
they are forever romantic
and I love the rain gliding
down on their cheeks, their
black-green skin,
chestnuts on the ground around
them as the rain beats softly
down memories, wild flowers smiling
around them, squirrels, and I try
to add the yellow big road in there,
maybe I can save them, maybe they just
need a little oil to kiss again, to love
again,
I find magic in my mind and I try
to catch it any way I can, maybe
if I catch enough of it in here,
in words, someday I'll have enough.
in my head, a man and
a woman sitting next to
each other holding hands
on a bronze bench his hat's
next to him, it's always
raining when I see them,
they are forever romantic
and I love the rain gliding
down on their cheeks, their
black-green skin,
chestnuts on the ground around
them as the rain beats softly
down memories, wild flowers smiling
around them, squirrels, and I try
to add the yellow big road in there,
maybe I can save them, maybe they just
need a little oil to kiss again, to love
again,
I find magic in my mind and I try
to catch it any way I can, maybe
if I catch enough of it in here,
in words, someday I'll have enough.
