 Waiting
The empty space beside me
still holds your heartbeat.
Your laughter still echoes
through the hallways.
A jigsaw puzzle on the dining table
weeps bitter, incomplete tears.
My heart holds its breath
awaiting your return.
How long ‘til confusion
is replaced by conviction,
that we were meant to complete this dance
reposed safely in each other's arms.
My life remains paused
until the puzzle pieces fall into place
and your search for answers
breathes new life into this frozen heartbeat.
When the darkness is replaced
by the light of realization,
you will find me
still locked in our last embrace
at home…..waiting…..
