Poetry For Everyday People
Love's Regret
Oh baby where did
time take us? how
did the laughs become
tears, how did we let
a life time slip away,
we sit a million miles
apart, alone, our heart's
have tasted true love and
now can't settle for less,
how did we lose forever?
we're beyond sorry, beyond
a come back, yet I sit in the
darkness wishing I could kiss
your feet, wishing I could take
time back when we were safe in love,
I should have bought more roses,
more flowers, more thought,
I now know, if you have love in
your life you have to serve it,
bow to it, I should have treated
you like the queen you are,
now I just work, happy hour with
not much happy, lighting candles
at night thinking you might knock,
thinking you might appear, thinking
you were a once in a life time.
time take us? how
did the laughs become
tears, how did we let
a life time slip away,
we sit a million miles
apart, alone, our heart's
have tasted true love and
now can't settle for less,
how did we lose forever?
we're beyond sorry, beyond
a come back, yet I sit in the
darkness wishing I could kiss
your feet, wishing I could take
time back when we were safe in love,
I should have bought more roses,
more flowers, more thought,
I now know, if you have love in
your life you have to serve it,
bow to it, I should have treated
you like the queen you are,
now I just work, happy hour with
not much happy, lighting candles
at night thinking you might knock,
thinking you might appear, thinking
you were a once in a life time.
