Heart Of The Matter

No Place For A Dreamer

The workplace,
Hectic, fractious,

No place for a dreamer,
With golden visions,
Of handsome knights,
On white charger,
Eager to steal her away,
To his great castle,
In the sky,

Nor for princes of prose,
And passion,
Poetic peddlers of purity,
Pain and song,

Always the dreamer,
Even as a child,
She dreamed.

And still she dreams,
For within her,
Is a land of love,
Of light and of truth,

Nurture your dreams, dreamers,
Nourish them with hope,
For only if hopes and wishes,
Are garnished with sincerity,
Will they ever be granted credence.

My workplace,
Hectic and fractious,

No place for a dreamer,
With golden visions,
Yet,

Here I am.
