M's Poetry
One More Thing
Today I attended my grandpa's funeral...but in all the sadness I found inspiration from the words spoken...I made a poem about it
One More Thing
At the end
we wonder is there one more thing?
To do, to say....
We live to accomplish
conflicted we want to go forward
but all the while fearing
what lies beyond the unknown
so we talk....so we rationalize
so we wonder....so we try to figure out
what is one more thing?
So in reflection
as he sat on his porch
he had lived a full life
but he wanted more
although he loved the Lord
he didn't want to go
so he asked and asked
dear Lord what is my future?
And the Lord gently answered
If you pass my child
you have completed your tasks....
Today I found the answer
after much thought
to be a success
is to do only one thing
it's simple....it's to be saved
one more thing....
It's the only thing
that is needed in this life
to know you have suceeded
easy yet we find it so hard
one more thing
is found at the altar....
