 ramblings and things

Hotel Europa

I don't believe in love she said
It doesn't suit my style of life
I am the mistress of my bed
Not for me the role of wife

I looked at her across the table
Watching me above her glass
Eyes saying here if you are able
But I let the moment gently pass
Sitting there talking in a quiet bar
Empty but for us that time of day
I said I don't know who you are
But I'll listen to what you say
I am flattered by your attention
A woman here all alone
But it was my intention
To stay here on my own
But no harm done I think
That we sit here and chat
Let me buy you drink
And maybe after that
Well let's just let that ride
For the moment anyway
It's too early to decide
What do you say
That afternoon sped past
And very soon came the night
Decision time at last
And I think we got it right

I awoke as day was dawning
Brushed her face with my finger tips
We parted later on that morning
Following a hug and brief brush of lips
