After the stormy night

The year end

the year end
came like it would
after the months of shuddering wait
the days often full of sun
or the morning that sought to be won
it was a year
just  another
yearnings and hopes
little troubles forgotten
a prayer to the heavens
for peace and promise
or the words of scripture
new healing
the  birth and end of  time
unending dance of all mankind.
