  "My Childhood Days"

My memories as a child.
Are oh' so ever clear.
For I sit here and ponder;
upon those days I hold dear.
~~~
As a child, I recall;
certain things which took place.
And the people that I cherished;
with there many loving ways.
~~~

My parents were loving, and good.
And they tried really hard
to instill all of the good things;
and never let down their guard.
~~~
We never had a lot of riches;
but, we were happy and loved.
Dad worked really hard;
with God's blessings, we were never deprived of.
~~~

My sister, and my two brothers;
we would have our fun times.
We'd play hard and fight;
and were read children's
nursery rhymes.
~~~
I remember playing;
in that old gravel pit.
Scared of those big ole' yellow trucks;
I'd run home and pitch a fit.
~~~

I remember our, fishing
down at the lake;
and catching those crab's
with just the right bait.
~~~
We swung on the rope;
that hung from that old hay mow.
From loft to loft;
there over the cows.
~~~

I remember my grandmother;
wearing that old straw hat.
She'd make us her Chicken 'N' Dumplings;
then laid us, down for a nap.
~~~
Life was so simple;
and carefree back then.
We'd rise with the chickens;
and start the day, with a grin.
~~~

We'd always go to church;
in our Sunday's best.
Mom would make her best dinner;
yes' we were  truly blessed.
~~~
I will always treasure.
Those special childhood days;
for they mean so much;
in so many different ways.
~~~

Many years have gone by now.
And I yet still crave.
All of these cherished memories;
I had in those childhood days.
~~~
I will always Cherish;
my childhood days.
And I thank God above;
for all the experiences I had.
And I will always thank God;
that I had a loving Mom and Dad;
that instilled love and respect;
in their four children.
And I had loving grandparents as well.
There's one thing I will always;
remember my one Grandmother for;
and that she always taught us;
to say our prayers every night;
before going to bed.
Thank God for my loving family.
Mom and dad are no longer with us
But we still have each other.
And I still love hearing those
old stories from long ago.
We see each other as often as we can.
But,,,I'll always think of my childhood
Memories, And I thank God
 I'll always have them.
