Empty pages
Empty Pages;
Empty pages caress my many different phases;
From long-dark, bleak nights to bright days
When I longed to journey to new heights and take flight
Soaring as if my wings had Slave picked-cotton feathers;
Escaping the chains engraved in the craves on my internal Spirit;
Branded with notches of regret, remorse, plus pain
Then it all dissipates and gets consumed and absorbed
by the acid rain
My Empty pages going through many estranged stages
Governed by my Inner Being, forgetting the rhyme and reason
Living in a place full of patriarchic treason;
Slowing down my iron lungs eternal breathing,
But the empty pages bring me back from my detrimental gazes
Relieving my optics without visine, surviving insane scenes
fit for Widescreen,
My empty pages have saved me from apocalyptic ages.
