The Butterfly
The Butterfly
(Observations from a Garden Seat)
A butterfly
Did flutter by
On a gentle summer breeze
Dancing prancing
On the flowers
Cavorting happily
Amongst the trees
A little bird
Had heard the word
Of a butterfly at play
Oh how delicately
You dance and prance
He remarked
Of the display
Carefree flew the butterfly
Such agility
In its technique
Though with dexterity
The bird caught it
In mid flight
Securely in its beak
Cheerfully the bird
Flew off to its nest
Atop the tallest tree
To feed his young
The butterfly
Which they ate
Most heartily
