I'm only twenty
but might as well be older
for life has been rough
and I've been smashed by many boulders
Once i was a maiden
as pure as one gets
but then i met my first husband
and that was his gift
As it should be
i gave him my heart
my soul
promised him everything
but we fell in a hole
Things went wrong
we got a divorce
and then i went crazy
like an unbroken horse
I began to break all the rules
lay with old friends
lost all my soul
to the point some will not be recovered again
Then something happened
on the spur of the moment
and i found love on accident
but i had misjudged it
I married seven years older
and he was my world
but after two weeks
he was with another girl
I forgave him of course
his initials in my leg
i loved him so deeply
i just couldn't walk away
So i made it work
or least that's what i thought
but he went back to her arms
and i knew all was lost
So i left
and now i surrender to the church
my body so scarred
and my heart full of hurt
What have i become
I've lost all my ways
I've allowed two men in
and my life has gone astray
Twenty years old
and married twice
that doesn't sound to pleasant
it sounds as if i live by some dice
Five tattoos
scars on my arms
barren by a husband
that has only done me harm
What has happened
where did i go wrong
i was once a good kid
but that child is gone
Now I'm a woman
with a horrible past
and I'm just so scared
that I'll be nothing but trash
So i open my arms
and stand in front of this church
i beg God for forgiveness
and pray that he heals all my hurt
