Across the eternal flaming sands she does ride As there through the eastern heavens the moon does slide.

As there through the eastern heavens
the moon does slide.
The desert's heat has long since
vanished and disappeared
But her reddened skin radiates the heat
where the sun has seared.
Images like cob webs spread
and threaten to overwhelm
as over the desolate plain she travels
forward to another realm.
A strange aberration invades
the restless workings of her brain
to wander here among the night time shadows
would drive her insane.
Here beneath a sultry sliver
of a moon bathed in mystic light
A wanderer scales the dunes
of sand and shivers in the night.
There is a peace and solace
she finds here where silence lives.
Yes, she knows too well the desert
is relentless and never forgives.
Across the hills riding onward
to a destiny she has not yet found.
Languid hoof beats of the stallion
and her heart beating the only sound.
In a self-imposed exile she traverses
the dunes and silence of the desert night.
There seems to be no end to her journey
as she travels in golden celestial light.
Once long ago she had decided
to wrest the demons which haunted her.
Here among the desert's solace
she would seek what she was searching for.
Along the dried out river beds
bathed and scrubbed by purity's sand
she exorcised the darkest regions
until all the evil at last would be banned.
