Reflections of My Perceptions
POEM FOR AN ANGEL, (Dissonant Harmonics of a War Torn Mind by Marc A K Reid, AKA So Many Stylz
POEM FOR AN ANGEL
The health problems that threaten you, this poem cannot prevent
Your landlord will not accept this poem when it's time to pay the rent
This poem will not undo the tragedy and pain you have experienced
When he hits you, these words will not serve as an adequate defense
After reading this poem, your pain and suffering will still make no sense
Your children will not eat these words when they are in need of nourishment
It will still be unfair that one so young should have to face such constant lament
After reading this poem a long day at work will still leave you feeling spent
At the end of the week, you will still find yourself wondering where the days went
This poem will not protect you on days when stormy clouds leave you drenched
When you want to sleep in class, this poem will not give you strength
When you feel as if you're tired of running, this poem will not shorten the race's length
I only hope that when you are feeling down, you read this poem for a few seconds
And if only for a moment, this poem helps to raise your spirits and lift your depression
I hope that when you see this poem, you are able to see it shows your essence
For your light will still be shining, you will remain, your light is incandescent
This poem will show you that although life has taught you many harsh lessons
In spite of everything that has happened, you haven't dropped out, you are still present
