She is sixteen now how time has flown
Out of school and fully grown.
Sat ten exams with bated breath
And wondered if she`d pass the test.
You bet she did and with no bother
Passed all ten just like her mother.

The envelope upon the mat
Was grabbed up by the pussy cat
`Oh God`, she cried, `I dare not look`.
No-one knows the strength it took.
She turned the letter round and said,
`What if I`ve failed`, eyes full of dread.
Then she yelled `I did it Mum!,
Ain`t you glad I`m not a son`.
`Won`t my Nannie be so proud,
She`ll just scream and shout out loud.
Melody, my clever lass
I knew that you would top the class.
