ACTIONS OF A NURSE GIRL
LOVED THEM FOR BETTER OR WORSE:
One calls her his girlfriend
The other his naughty bad girl
Neither one will work to blend
Into her nurse girl poet world
They could see her sadness
But they'd rather not
When she complains of badness
They could feel caught
She's behind the fences of the infirm
Walking in white on her breaks
Lights a cigarette and let's it burn
As behind her eyes the tears ache
To fall like rain
To float like winter snow
So cure their pain
Angel of mercy, then let go
In her house, in her warm bed
Breathes steady to rest with eyes closed
While composing rhymes in her head
Of actions that a nurse girl knows.
