Cobra
The hooded cobra rose
Strike 1 missed, as did number 2
This was not a fight he chose
On and on it went till
A furious and fatal bite
Of either would kill
The mongoose danced
In and out and sideways too
He was fast, He pranced
The mongoose was the Winner
Each lunge and violent strike
Took a toll, the snake was dinner

One day in Vietnam a bunch of us watched the fight above
The snake was fast, and spit too, the mongoose was faster
Thus tiring out the big cobra...was a spectacle to be sure
