 gipsyville

i thought i knew this part of town
though a long time since i'd been
i had to brake and slow right down
really a very much different scene
old street names
but looked in awe
they were the same
but nothing more
airy spaces
little squares
inviting places
all built there
in recent years since i‘d been
every working day
a regular visitor to that scene
i drove on my way
thinking somehow
modern planners
some times now
had social manners
gone some terraced homes all strictly lined
modern in their time but sadly age battered
to be replaced by some in styles designed
as though the people really mattered
