Ethereal Moments The Poetry of Donavon Scott Vinson
Portraits
I eagerly unfold the crumpled, old pictures
locked away in the rusty vault of my mind.
The portraits of my past come into brilliant life
as I slowly turn over each colorful leaf fallen
from the tree of my memory.
They evoke cheerful laughs, others cause me to sob quietly,
and some return the warmth of old emotions to my heart,
as I relish the memories of my colorful past.
My soul finds wonderful delight in each and every one,
as I quietly refold each memory into neat little packets,
and lovingly return them to the rusty vault of my mind,
to serenely await the angel's call to come home.
