Way down yonder where the blackberries grow
Whippoorwills sing in the moonlight's glow
The frogs are croaking as loud as they please
A barn owl hoots from high in the trees
The fish are splashing as they jump for a bug
The ground moles scurry to find a grub
Off in the distance a dog is howling
Sunflowers droop as if they're bowing
The wind in the trees makes an eerie sound
But the breeze helps cool the warm night down
The flame flickers on the citronella torch
Fending off gnats as we sit on the porch
Watching the nights celestial show
Way down yonder where the blackberries grow!
