MEND MY HEART

MEND MY HEART

It was steadily that my love grew
And I fell hook, line and sinker for you,
I felt flutters in my chest when with you,
This feeling was exciting and all so new.

You brought my heart alive in my chest
And to escape, it would do its best,
It beat against my ribs with such force
I just had to let nature take its course.

My heart had a new home, that was with you
You cherished it and again my love grew,
You filled it with such emotion you know
That all I could do was to let it show.

My heart could fly, it had wings of its own,
The fall it was in for, it couldn`t have known,
My heart would open and out would pour love
As true and as pure as a snow white dove.

It was happy in the home it had found,
Round your little finger it was wound,
Whatever you asked, your will would be done,
Happiness at last I thought I had won.

This heart was a gift of love to you, a token,
But you gave it back, it lies bleeding and broken,
You hurt it so badly it just won`t mend,
It`s lost its soul mate, its one true friend.

How could you do this to such a precious gift?
It`s torn us apart it`s caused this awful rift,
Surely you can see this heart still loves you?
Come back and reclaim it and to it be true.

I don`t believe you don`t love me any more,
Our love for each other was true I`m sure,
While my heart beats in my chest, I live in hope
If I thought you`d come back, then with the wait I can cope.
