Heart Of The Matter
The Chorus, Sung Out Loud
Alone with my mountains,
All quiet, peace abounds,
I stand beneath a midnight sky,
With only natures sounds,
The heavens are so close tonight,
The stars they twinkle so,
I made it through another storm,
The journey though, was slow,
The drive, was long and arduous,
Torrid, teaming rain,
The motorway is steaming,
It's a dangerous terrain,
I'm climbing to the higher ground,
I'm lost in mountain mist,
No light to cast a shadow,
And you, my friend, I've missed,
I find my way to solitude,
The road ahead is clear,
And as I ponder yonder star,
It seems to bring you near,
I gaze upon the galaxy,
The river rustles by,
A cool breeze whispers through the trees,
In natures lullaby,
And in the distance somewhere,
A lonesome stag stands proud,
He sings a mournful song tonight,
The chorus, sung out loud.
