 Waterloo
It was the year 1815 on the 15th June
They looked almost angelic under the glimmering moon
The onslaught had been relentless, but they couldn't break through
As we followed the Duke of Wellington into Waterloo
The French for days had tried to break our British Hearts
Led by that swine, Napoleon Bonaparte
It was not just the British who wanted to bring an end to this vulture
We were allied with Russian, Austria and the Prussian King Blucher
The canon fire broke the silence of the day
And war and death was soon on its way
For King and Country we would fight
Under the cover of a sullen moonlight
I was a cavalryman from the union brigade cavalry
Honoured in the last War for my bravery
1500 strong we charged into the valley of death
The air was full of the smell of corpses and horses breathe
Infront of me I see the French dressed in blue
And as we pushed forward, our casualties grew
I heard the drummer boy beat the rhythm of Battle
I didn't see the Frenchman lunge at my saddle
His sword struck into my rip cage
The slicing of my flesh was not felt due to my battle rage
Around me over 300,000 men thought against each other
As I fell into the muddy fields, I was struck by a bullet, and then another
The clashing of swords and the screams of men
We knew reinforcements would arrive but we didn't know when
My God is the only man who will be rescuing me
As I hear the horn and the charge of our Cavalry
The Frenchman who had his blade at my throat
Soon had his blood running down his coat
The English accent hasn't sounded so good
As where once the French were, The British now stood
Gravely injured I am carried to safety
And I see on the horizon the Prussian infantry
The French are surrounded, yet Napoleon flees
Yet on that day at Waterloo, we brought France to its knees.
