I've wriiten poetry so beautiful
I've written poetry that was funny~
I've written poetry of all my lifes travels
I've written poetry of a land of milk and honey~
But I feel a lot of poets feel
That the worlds a beautiful place~
And every day come what may
Crime and war is staring us in the face~
It's so ever hard to try and imagine
A poetic world of peace and love~
And write of all things beautiful
Or even concentrate on God above~
To write always of a world of happiness
And the many things in life we all adore~
When all around us it trauma and endless heartbreak
And the human race is almost all at war~
I do my best to use a sense of humor
And I have never told a lie to date~
Not even in the poetry that I write
And in minds I do try to open more than just a gate~
So I do hope that poets are as well knowing
That on earth we do have problems many~
and that it gets more than just difficult
To write beautiful poetry all the time if any~
we all strive to allow our souls
To speak with an open mind~
And tell the world of the reality of life
As best we can and leave the worst behind~
But as time goes by on planet earth
It's getting harder every single day~
To always write as the oldest greats once did
As humans on earth will have their way~
