Heart Of The Matter
Morning Fog - A Sonnet
A morning fog crept silent as we slept,
We woke to find the mountains disappear,
Though gone from sight, the memory we kept,
The sun came by and soon the view was clear,
A lazy Sunday morning, all is well,
We break the fast with pancakes, jam and tea,
A call to church, we hear them toll the bell,
We let it ring, we need not company,
No place, we wish to go, no one to see,
Contented just to let the hours go by,
It's Sunday, set aside for you and me,
To languish in the morning lullaby,
We talk a while, I whisper in your ear,
And say the things I know, you need to hear.
