The morning was so cold and cloudy
I saw no reason to get out of bed.
but I just could not get comfortable
I snuggled down and covered my head.
Not thanking to much and mostly by habit
I thanked God for another day
for my family our health and our daily bread.

But I just could not get comfortable
The ticktock of my clock sounded so proud
well I said to my self Thank God I can hear.
My feet wanted to move I tried to ignore them
I said Thank God I can move my leg's
my brain said to my body in a voice so loud

get out of this bed and enjoy your wealth
God gave you this day he knows it is dreary
God gave you life to day but be weary
in a blink of an eye it can be taken away
God gave you hearing so listen to his music
God gave you movement so dance to his tune
Don't mumble Thank you God out of habit

God gave you a voice so shout out his praises
There will be a lot of cold and cloudy days
But remember the sun is just above the clouds
just waiting its turn to come shining through.
