The War of Life
I went to fight the war,
I went to die,
I don't care anymore,
I will not cry.
I hope to be,
Shot in the chest,
I run in front,
Of all the rest.
(Chorus)
A young man dies,
A husbandless wife,
But I'm right here,
Fighting the war of life.
I'll be first to die,
I know I will,
The end is nigh,
Please just kill.
A bullet hits,
I fall to the ground,
I've never heard,
A more pleasing sound.
(Chorus)
A young man dies,
A husbandless wife,
But I'm right here,
Fighting the war of life.
The war is over,
At least for me,
The war of life,
Finally.
(Chorus)
A young man dies,
A husbandless wife,
But I'm right here,
Fighting the war of life.
