Can you imagine seeing those beady eyes?
Could you bear hearing those aweful cries?
My brother Dave went on a hunt one night
To catch the lizards who flee from sight
"They are nice to eat!' he remarked in fun
So he hurried into the night with his gun
I could never eat a large Iguana's thigh
Or take an extra helping of Iguana pie
But in the lovely country where I was born
In Central America, land of green corn
These lizards are eaten as delicacies
Their eggs are tasty, so they tell me
Lizards run wild on the darkest nights
I think they all have good eye sight
Their skins are scaly and very rough
That's why they look so scary and tough
Perhaps they're nice like slices of ham
But if you see them, run as fast you can
I truly do not know and I cannot tell
Why some folks would catch Iguanas to sell
