jannette's party...

a party of people-
thirty i'd say-
mingled 'n tingled
in a rollicking way...

into the evening-
bubbly 'n bright-
clinking 'n toasting-
nibbling all night...

swirling 'n swaying
to hits of the past-
twisting 'n turning-
some slow 'n some fast...

presents 'n flowers
opened with care-
the lady of honour
swings her gold hair...

sharing- exchanging
'bout this 'n that-
musical murmer-
chitter 'n chat...

poetry reading
'specially done-
freshly original-
oozing with fun...

microphone grabbing-
singing off-key-
words in a jumble-
floating 'n free...

some over-drinking-
some tired 'n slow-
a wonderful ev'ning-
too soon-time to go...

Joy Weare.
