I Am A Great City

I was once well off a city in my prime,
activity was bustling, tourism, immigration,
my way of life was fit for a king, all that time,
I had schools, churches, work places,
courthouses many places to dine...
words like, hunger, poverty never came to mine,

I was a city of beauty, respected never any crime,
when my children went out to play, the choice...
would be to stay at home or to go away,

I remember all the plans the people made, some
building homes, workforce and relationships...
were awesome...
For those I love and whose time has come...
were placed in the ground, I cared for our sick,
elderly folk, our new born everyone else was young...

I am a Great Great City and will be back...
to normal life, that is a fact,
my people will not live in the streets or parkin' lots
I imported mobil housein', will fix what will not rot,
My food, clothing, education will be restored...
          ~ History will record ~
I will not organize our games and have to go away,
I am controlled and steadfast...
This city will, with the help of my neighbors,
this Great Nation, all that labor's...
as well as our global community and our God,
All will enable us to stay, the labor will be hard,
My will is to get all I have lost back,
              my choice,

I am that Great City you're readin'
that one on TV ~ That one on everyone's mind,
            Truly believein'
I will however enjoy in my pride...

             ~ This fact ~
I, the Great Residence of this Great City...
                that
We will truly survive ~ have no pitty!
             Hear My Voice!
