The Mistress of Word Play

The colors blend across the deserted street
and down the vacant avenue it begins to sleet.
No noise to puncture or to permeate
the air which He once did create.

Coldness and emptiness hangs like shrouds
as a faint ray of sunlight pierces the clouds.
The towering giants built to tower
will at last decay, and lose their power.

Roadways once filled with trucks and cars
are replaced with the brightness of the stars.
All those hopes and dreams have left
and the world is hollow, at last bereft.

Rejoice I say, this day we go to meet
and we place all Holy treasure at His feet.
That time has come to finally capture
our lifelong goal. Behold the rapture!

Where wars and discord once did ring
now nature awakes and she does sing.
The yoke of man has been displaced
no more will the earth be disgraced.

The trumpet did sound all through the night
and God has removed each scar and slight
we placed here on this planet fair.
The time has come to take us there.
