No matter who's around

Just how happy you make me
And how dearly
My heart treasures thee
How many countless smiles
That you have brought to this face
How many times I'm drifting
And someone has to bring me
Down from space
How many memories of you
That I can not and will not erase
Some old school games
Playing cat and mouse
It's you I'll playfully chase
Getting ourselves excited
Ready to hit up that heavenly place
With your inspiration
I am standing so tall
Amidst all this rubble
No matter how many times I stumble
Back straight, chest out
You're the reason
How this poem came about
Keep my wheels churning
Set my heart ablaze
Passion for you still burning
You being in my world
Simply has me amazed
So thankful to have met you
Sometimes I get so lost in your eyes
That I can't believe all this is true
My heart telling me to give it all
But yet I'm still afraid of the fall
So much I want to share
One of these days I'll give in
And by that you'll know how much I care
