Death Of Our Body
We all will face the death
of our body
at some point in our life
My brother Troy
is facing this right now,
death comes with much strife
We make bargins
with God when we
are told we have become sick
We may tell Him many things
we will do, that
just does not stick
We have good intentions
as we cry and call out to Him
in our distress
But perhaps, for whatever reason,
we are not removed
from all this mess
We may become angry
with everyone present that
surrounds us this day
Then, we may experience
a change of heart, as we let go
and let God have His way
The most important part
of dying and letting go
of this life, to me, is this
That we experience all
He has in store
for us and we do not miss
Our heart condition,
when we take our last breathe,
whom did we serve?
Did you love as the Christ loved?
Did you forgive others,
or did you lose your nerve?
Did we ask into our life
and accept all
Jesus Christ did for us?
This is my prayer for you,
on that day you stand
before God, He will have no fuss
We each will either hear,
depart from Me, worker of iniquity,
I never knew you
Or come, enter into My presence,
My good and faithful servant,
I love you too
We do not have to wait
till we are sick and death
knocks at our door
Each moment of the day
we give Him our life and He grants
us a breathe, once more
Live in the fullness of the time,
each and every moment
of your what is called today
Love like you have never loved
before and forgive all those
who hurt you in the same way
Then, you will not be dissappointed
on the day, face to face
you meet the Lord
He only wants for us to love
one another and forgive each other,
as we live in one accord
Lord bless my brother Troy,
hold him close, as he is
in transition in his life
Turn his sorrow into joy
and receive him unto You,
as You lay to rest, the strife
