Cautionary Tales

Cautionary Tales

Full speed
no need
to ever slow down
or so you think
when the warning signs
are screaming in neon
you rode right past on
so round the bend
the devil waited
your execution
came at seven

the cautionary tales
never apply to us
just another person
it could never happen
because we think we are untouchable

Take the parties
endless sexed up nights
take the pills
you can't remeber
but now you live with a disease
you can't forget
so you wish....
and you cry
to take back certain moments
maybe even just one
but too little, too late
sadly it's done
because....

the cautionary tales
never apply to us
just another person
it could never happen
because we think we are untouchable

and so we are dying too young
suffering too much
for what? for who?
look at the cost
to be loved
to be noticed
there is too much
make up on it
the mascara is running
our generation
is flat lining.....
