MORNING GLORIES

Morning Glories

I am a country girl at heart - I love the way the  morning glory curls
around a fence post - the smell of fresh coffee over an open fire
The crisp white of my kitchen curtain

**************************
My old pottery bowls and jugs I treasure more than my crystal and china
Blue and white dishes I collect
They give me a feeling of warmth and comfort

**************************
I love the sunshine warm on my face and hands
as a soft breeze caresses my cheeks
Bringing with it the smell of fresh herbs and flowers

**************************
Walking down a dusty county road with you by my side
You holding my hand like we did when we were younger
Watching a butterfly dance across the tall grass in a pasture

**************************
The velvet feel of a colt's nose when I give it an apple to eat
The smell of fresh cut hay makes me happy with loving memories
You without your shirt and sweat gleaming on your upper lip

**************************
I love God's present is in all of His creation
His touch in the wind - His fragrance in flowers
His voice in the bird's song

**************************
I wonder if heaven will have a country side
a place for us to walk
With morning glories and butterflies and birds

**************************
Those sweet days of yester-year brings joys to remember
I will always be a  country girl
With Jesus' love in my heart
