I went to see Mum and Dad today
It`s not really that far away,
About thirteen miles I would say
Anyway it was a nice day.
I took some pretty flowers with me
I knew they`d like them if they could see,
I arranged the flowers in the pot
They are in a nice sunny spot.
All was peaceful, calm and serene
No interruptions is what I mean,
All alone just the three of us
Away from all the humdrum and fuss.
I talked as though they could hear me
Their faces again I`d like to see
I`d love to take them and hold them tight
And never let them out of my sight.
I see them now in my mind`s eye
But for both of them I do still cry,
Sometimes I find it so hard to bear
Living my life without them there.
I tell them both I still love them so
But now it`s time for me to go,
Goodnight, God bless dear Mum and Dad
I walk away feeling rather sad.
