Over all my lifelong time
Of writing poetry~
I've found it such a powerful thing
In regards to being a powerful therapy~
I've written a poem in the past
For a soul who was losing a son~
And years later she met me one day
And told me of what my poem it had done~
Her son had died of cancer then
And she hugged me with all her might~
And told me my poem had helped her through
Her most woeful lifelong plight~
So many times a simple rhyme
Helps so many through a time~
And make all the difference to
A poetic friend so fine~
With gentle understanding
And love within what you have to say~
Can make all the difference to
A soul upon the day~
With poetry I've talked a soul
That i did not even know~
Go right through rehab in another land
And live to shine and in love to grow~
Poets have a power so sublime
And with all the most loving gentle care~
Their words like birds of fly ever so far
And to hearts and souls can travel everywhere~
Right now theres souls so in need
Of your love and all you have to share~
Within your thoughts and poetry
As powerful as a prayer~
Ever so very theraputicly
Your words can save and heal~
Make saddness simply go away
And theraputicly save a life for real~
I like to think that many times
Of what I write in rhyme~
Has helped some soul a little along the way
With something they come across in time~
To have them smile and know some joy
To even know that out there~
Poets just like you and I
Are dearest friends that poeticly send a prayer~
To all who need a little love
A smile , a hug , a hand~
