A Moment of Thanks
In a moment so quick
The dust yet to settle
Upon memories thick
In yesterday's kettle
Young at heart but older
Now finds myself at last
Early fires still smolder
Reflections of the past
Gone the two step dances
No childish games to play
Still my heart romances
The sunrise of each day
Aged with time's perfection
Of life's philosophy
Purged in love's direction
Defines the heart of me
In a moment so quick
Those added years of time
Could not this day predict
How life would be so fine
Blessed the years unto me
So quickly how time flies
Though half a century
A moment in God's eyes!
