He had loved her with all his soul
With all he'd ever be~
And later time and life separated them
But he still loved her desperately~
Many many years had past away
He never loved again as he did then~
Just lived each day come what may
In memory of her and way back when~
He had never heard a single word
Over such a long long time~
He never knew what ever happened to
A love so dear , sublime~
One day he walked into his home
Knowing that within he'd be alone~
Feeling within strongly he was not on his own
As the strongest vibe within him had grown~
He stopped cold , looked about the room
As if feeling he'd have company soon~
His home had developed joy instead of gloom
And it had always been as if his tomb~
He had lived upon his own so long
And within very seldom sang a song~
Of late had thought about his love so strong
Since being separated and she'd moved on~
He then made himself a drink and sat
This vibe was so strong no doubting that~
He wondered why the scared look upon his cat
As it looked left and right from upon it's mat~
Coming in he'd hung his coat on hook of door
And later saw it away there upon the floor~
A real distance from hook ten feet or more
It had not fell there that's for sure~
He then chilled and felt a kiss upon his face
His cat then took off and gave him space~
The kiss it lingered there with loving grace
And after that he received a warm embrace~
Not knowing what this was all about
Never knew if to stay in or go out~
Could not find his cat for it he'd shout
But he stayed in with his confusing doubt~
That afternoon he received a long distance call
After all of this time heartache and all~
His true love had passed away , taken a fall
The cat came back slowly up the hall~
Looking back through things he had kept
Over which for years he had sadly wept~
Came back memories that he thought he had swept
And dreams he'd had over time he'd slept#
It turned out that this very day
Was the same very one she'd gone away~
Same time that I love you she was to say
And then he fell on knees to pray~
