Bracken among heatherI am the bracken, the popular and well-travelled fern Yet although dependable I have so much to learn Amongst your beauty and soft fragrance smell We mingle together so very well And as cattle and sheep graze upon your flower I stand guard over you with passion and power As you spread your wild splendor across many a land I grow apart of you, like lovers hand in hand And when the wind blows up into a thunderous gale The elements try to batter us, without any avail With your purple in colour and my emerald green We whisper in twilight, like a sweet flowing stream Whether it be under daylight or a sullen night sky I harvest your daydreams as your pollen passes me by Two ferns so different in many ways Who are destined to be together to the end of our days Vote for this poem
