Truth
How do you feel
now that I know the truth?
You lied ‘til the moment
that I showed you proof.
Your lies were so lame
they aroused my suspicion,
but lying just leads
down the road to perdition.
You say you're relieved
the truth has come out.
but your lack of honesty's
what it's about.
A strong loving union
dissolves into dust.
There's nothing much left
since I have little trust.
I once felt so loved,
honored and cherished.
It pains me to see
what we had has now perished.
I know you aren't perfect
that's not what I need,
but honesty's what
would have helped us succeed.
You're free now to lie,
I won't interfere.
Enjoy all your freedom,
this girl must steer clear.
