I wrote this poem because, we all have someone that has died and we've felt
we didn't say something or do something that we needed to do, I learnt this lesson
the hard way, when my first husband passed away when he was 35, leaving me with two
young children, my last words to him was "see ya later" then I walked out the door,
when I returned, he was in eternal sleep, oh and his last words to me was, "I love you"
You left so suddenly,
Far away from me,
Your pain did fade,
You rest in heavens shade.
If I had a second chance,
at you to take a glance,
I'd look you in the eye,
And try not to cry.
I'd say I love you,
thats just something
I didn't get to do,
before you left on your
eternal journey,
without me.
I'd hug you and hold
you for awhile,
Then I would ponder
upon your smile.
I've learnt to deal
with the pain,
Of losing you I
have nothing to gain,
by holding on to
regret and pride,
For if I had a second
chance you'd be by
my side.
I hold on to the
memories they keep me
sane,
I cherish those lost
moments though at
times they cause me
pain.
If I had a second
chance,
To take a glance,
I'd wish you all my
heartfelt love,
Because I know you are
now in God's arms
above.
